I'm not shitting you. They had a chance to do this in 1959. Contrary to popular belief, this song is traditional, meaning that whoever wrote it died a long time ago. Woodie guthrie might have done a version, i'm not sure.

actually my friend what I meant was didnt the people who wrote the saints are coming put the opening lyrics in their song or did green day and u2 just do that for their cover, and yes I know that this song is way older then the saints are coming.
