I don't think it's dissing the religion since it's not meant to be taken politically/offensively ^__^ I think Christianity is actually, for the most part, portrayed to be good and truthful and for justice during the anime. When I first watched this, I was a devout Christian. Even though I have had a change of heart with religion, I still don't appreciate anything that insults ANY religion- but I don't think this is insulting at all. We can all agree to disagree ^___^

I agree with Makaihime and NeoHanyou99. Religion and old legends and historical events are all parodied for stories and entertainment. I think it's fine so long as we respect that it's just a parody and nothing more and we remember it's not 100% accurate to the original. I respect that the Bible didn't say nuns should have guns and banish devils- I'd be insane if I thought they did ^^; It's not the religion has been twisted, it's just been spiced up for a story ^___^
