Brent Smith's voice is brutally amazing. The one thing I love about it is his "John Fogerty" rumble that he does on some parts. I'm a guy, but I was kinda turned on, no homo.

Yeah, but I don't really like Lynard Skynard's version, I personally think this version captures it much better.

It was made by Ronnie Van Zant and Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd and it was made about their grandmothers. Shinedown covered it which is what this is.
