Yes, they are laughing at the lyrics of the song. Check out some songs by N'sync or especially Boyz 2 Men or similar bands. It's funny because these guys are singing an entire song that is made up only of lyrics that are describing accurately and wittily what each line in a typical boy band song might be doing. They don't quote any boy band song lyrics, they instead use lyrics that are an overly specific description of what those lyrics might be saying/doing in cliched boy band songs.
