John McCain voted against an increase in funding for the Veterans Administration because he wanted to privatize the whole VA system. Privatization did not work for the energy companies, ENRON, and we can see now it is not working for the banking and mortgage companies. He also voted with President Bush against the new GI bill that allows Iraqi war Vets, like myself, to attend college because they both agreed the bill was to expensive.
