hey bluesracounter,he was damn obsessed...and no,im not new to svr...much like the brits wanted to be muddy waters etc svr wanted to be hendrix...and the big proof is he even try'd to dress like hendrix...and YOU must be new to hendrix: a guy that taught himself to play the guitar at 5 years old cos he saw a mickey mouse movie with thunder and asked his dad if he could do it with a guitar...and play right handed guitars with his left hand...oh and the lyrics...want a good white boy? randy rhodes

im not dissagreeing with you, but i think SRV had better live performances on average because he wasn't baked most of the time.

Don't apologize, like I said, it's all about personal tastes. But you can't make subjective staements and assume everyone is gonna sit down and agree with you. Yes, Hendrix was a phenomenal entertainer and extremely talented. But he wasn't that much better than SRV. And the quote marks around noise aren't necessary, as it is a known fact Jimi's bread and butter was making noise and distortion a part of his act.

thats cool, but I still think Hendrix is MILES above SRV and always will be. Sory for liking "noise" so much.
