"the android" is not an object, its the platform and os designed by google. and it resembles nothing of the iphone platform or interface. so atleast do your research before you rant about how great your phone is, and quit using the word "hence" so much. you sound like a prick when you use it. 2nd, its called the G1, and it's completely different. your so ignorant that you think just because it has a big touch screen that its a "iphone wannabe", get over yourself.

The comment you replied to I was not saying the iphone was better, all i said was it appears the same basic thing as the iphone, and it has to offer much more, hence what i said go above and beyond the iphone, to appease attention. Well put!I have the iphone3g.I have no problems with texting on the keyboard.I find the keyboard nice since if Im not using it, it goes away & it doesnt take up valuable screen space. I use it for business use too & I find it great. I can send and read email just fine. YES it would be great to have some extras like copy & paste & etc BUT it is a software based phone and CAN be updated. Im sure the android is good too. BUT it is an obvious copy of the Iphone. They want some of those sales too.

Interesting views on whats the better mousetrap. Frankly, I wasnt all that motivated with the iPhone when it was first release. However, the advent of the G3 was a quantum leap in functionality made simple, and that is why the iPhone has become so popular (IMHO). Anywho, the Android is conceptually great, while Apple is more conservative, yet very careful to keep things simple. No doubt in my view that Apple will up the ante with something we havent even thought about yet. Regards,~DD

as far as it not being made to beat the iphone, the android WAS made to capture some of the iphone sales market! And I CAN watch anyvideo on technology if I want since I am into tech stuff. Bottom line it DOES NOT compete with teh Iphone and maybe that is why your panties are in a bunch. I just made a simple comment you dont need to get so defensive its just a phone.

Iphone wasn't first either. Windows mobile phones were around before the Iphone and PDAs were around before that. Apple just created their own OS using existing elements and put it into their own phone. It is by far the superior phone, but doesn't necessarily have the better os. Android needs to be around longer before anyone can draw any real conclusions.

hw is this 'better' than the iphone. does the same thing, in face since iphone was first, it copied the iphone. Needs to go above and beyond the iphone & be priced right to compete with the iphone. Seems to be basically the same as the iphone.
