im gonna have to disagree with ya there. thing is, you dont hear about the good original artists. they dont sell. just look at that 1 guy. i had never heard about him until he toured with buckethead. les claypool too. i mean, with the exception of primus, you almost never hear his work. so even though they're few and far between and it takes effort to find them, there is more than just beck.
