This is, indeed a grand hypothesis, and could contain flaws, but it is illogical to assume that war will always be part of society, just because it has been thus far. Our species has only existed for 1/100,000th of the life of our universe (if it did, indeed have a beginning), "modern society" being an even smaller fraction.
