There seems to be a lot of genre-quibbling with bands these days. Genres/sub-genres are meant to be a loose guideline when explaining to someone what a band kind of sounds like. They aren't meant to be iron-clad restrictive definitions. BTW, this rules, but Ion's first 2 albums blow this album away, IMO.

Not mathcore exaclty, but yeah, they're super technical/mathematical/progressive, whatever you want to call it. I mean...these guys are just plain super crazy. In a good way, of course.
