My needle had a break in the threading hole, you may need to replace the needle. Im not sure what other reason it would keep coming out, just make sure you have access thread coming out of the back after threading the machine.

Thank you for making this video. My wife got this sewing machine from her aunt and couldn't figure out how to get it threaded. I found your video and you saved the day!

Wow, that's the closest I've come to finding a pic/video of a sewing machine like mine. I have a kenmore 2142. Any tips on how to turn it on? I'm not sure mine still works, I just found it in the attic recently.

Thanks alot Jane! I spent at least an hour looking for a instruction booklet or instructions without having to pay and wait for a delivery. I found some pics finally that helped but this helps BIG TIME! Thanks so much!
