Here is one concept where a direct drive Brushless motor was used for a RC helicopter Yaw control. But instead of varying the speed of the brushless motor, the motor was made to rotate at a constant speed and yaw is specifically dicated by the usual tail rotor blade pitch as controlled by a Heading Hold Gyro driven servo.Build details here; http://www.rcgroups.com/forums...
