Since the first movie ever made movies have been about being commercial. And back then it was worse b/c not anyone could go out and make a movie, it was only big corporations like Paramount, RKO, and Columbia. It was so commercial, that just like today, they had tabloids about the stars of the movies and made up romances. And they also spewed out the movies so fast.. it didn't matter if it was good, it just had to make the deadline.Not all were like that, but a lot were, like today.

Natalie Wood should have won the Oscar for this, but the film itself sucked big time. Dean is extremley overrated.
