This is such a good video, I would like to learn professional photography and can't believe how complex a lighting device should be to get so simple pics, but of course with a world of difference than a regular horrible built in flash pic. Thanks for sharing this knowledge.

The gel has to go just in front of the flashtube, not the whole softbox haha!Why do you think the light is more controlled when the diffusion cloth isn't stuck on the black velcro? :rolleyes:

If you want to gell it you put a rosco over the flash tube hello? Why would you even begin to attempt to try to put it on the whole face of the octbox? Better way to describe the "Barndoor" as you put it is to say "Control" or "Spread" of the light...
