Probably the best boss music in the game is played for this fight (tied with the Omega Pirate theme), and this fight was the first one to really make my heart pound. The amount of weapons that were packed into him is amazing, not to mention his magical ability to hover (when his wings are motionless during the missile-firing sequences). Anyway, it was a great battle."Later, Ridley realized that he could have quickly ended the fight by grabbing Samus and tossing her over the edge."

He could've been out of commission for that time period after getting his ass royally kicked in Metroid Prime.
