You do realize any properly thrown kick is more destructive in terms of pain and injury than any punch? Let me kick you once on the stomach and if you can clearly say "kicks are useless" afterward then I will retract my statement. Look at it this way. A kick to the groin or for lack of a better word nuts would be extremely more painful than any kind of punch to the groin. There is just too much more force and acceleration in the leg because it is the longest strongest muscle on the body.
