For everyone who loves the Boeing 747. We saw EIGHT of these beauties at Manchester in the space of 2hrs 30mins- Corsair-400, China Airlines Cargo-400F, two PIA-200s, two Virgin Atlantic-400s, Excel Airways-300 and an Air Atlanta -300.

Not always. Sometime autobrakes and spoilers are just used. Also depends upon the a/c and the final approach speed. Also depepends on how quick they need to vacate.

The runway these aircraft are landing on is 3,048m x 45m. Reverse thrust is always used to slow down a landing aircraft whatever length the runway may be.
