Whether you are an aspiring or a seasoned deer hunter, Alabama presents an excellent place for you to hunt your prey - especially if you are a true whitetail deer hunter. Alabama deer hunting is a white-tail deer hunter's dream come true because you can hunt for big bucks in specially managed properties there. Note that you can either use a bow or a gun to hunt in Alabama, so the choice is yours to make.

If you are a new hunter, you may be interested in the many deer farms and preserves that will make your deer hunting experience in Alabama a great one. Even if you are an experienced deer hunter, you will still enjoy your hunting in Alabama. There are many lodges and farms in Alabama which specialize in whitetail deer - the most common deer species found in the south. Hunting properties are huge in Alabama, often going up to 5,000 acres of land where the deer population is large.

You will be happy to know that in the last few years alone, the ratio of large bucks to does in Alabama has increased tremendously. And some of the farms in Alabama actually offer winter classes to train you in the wooded areas for deer hunting.

In Alabama, different preserves are divided for different usages. Depending on your hunting goal, you can choose to hunt on open tracts of land for bagging does and small bucks. These come with designated areas where you can search for your trophy buck. You can also opt for guided hunts and self-assessed hunting experiences.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Alabama deer hunting is seasonal in nature. This means that you cannot just enter the woods and seek out your trophy deer at any time of the year. It is wise to take note of the timing and check with the relevant authorities when you plan for the hunting trip.

For bow hunting (or archery ), the deer season begins in mid-October, so take note of this. Gun deer hunting season in Alabama does not occur until late November. You should check with the Alabama Department of Wildlife to find exact season opening dates because these dates are not fixed for every year.

Alabama deer hunting is getting very popular for many hunter of deer. For years already, avid whitetail deer hunters either lived in or flocked in large numbers to Alabama for their favorite past time. Deer hunting in Alabama during the correct season can be very rewarding as the catch is pleniful.

And because hunting restrictions are minimal and opportunities abound, Alabama deer hunting is indeed a very profitable business for many in the state.
