If your head of hair is important to you, than you are probably constantly looking for methods and tips for keeping your head of hair looking its very best. Hairstyles do come and go, but most people never lose interest in their hair. So, while you are trying to find the right hair style for you, here are some tips for keeping your hair looking healthy.

Do Not Brush Soaking Wet Hair

When your hair is wet, it is more susceptible to being damaged. Brushing your hair when it is wet can cause your hair to break and tear more than if you were to brush your hair when it is dry. Many people do not know this fact, so they go about brushing away at wet hair and do not even know that they are tearing and breaking their otherwise possibly healthy strands. If it is at all possible try brushing your hair only when it is dry, or just a little damp at the least.

Blow Dry Your Hair When it is Damp

Hair is actually better for styling when it is damp, so if you blow dry your hair, do so when it is a little damp. Soaking wet hair is a big no no for blow drying. Not only does it take a lot of unnecessary time to blow dry soaking wet hair, but you can damage your hair from the brush strokes to soaking wet hair. So, gently towel dry your hair to get most of the wetness out, and then wait awhile for your hair to become damp. You may also want to apply a protection serum on your hair to assist you with getting the water out of your hair, and also protecting your hair from the heat of the blow dryer.

Ultra Violet and Thermal Protection Hair Serums

If you go out in the sun a lot, no doubt you probably would want to protect your skin from harmful ultra violet rays. Well, if this is the case, than you will do well to protect your hair from the sun also. Some leave-in hair conditioners and detanglers have a sort of sunscreen in them that will protect your hair from damage brought on from the heat and rays that the sun emits.

Also, if you use hair tools such as flat irons and blow dryers to style your hair, you will do well to use a leave-in conditioner with thermal properties. Heat can assist in styling your hair and molding it into the shape that you would like. However, heat can also do a great deal of damage to your hair. Decrease the risk of damage with thermal leave-in conditioners.

So, here are just a few tips to add to your treasure chest of hair care tricks. Be good to your hair and it will serve as a nice and attractive physical attribute for you.
