There are such things like branded and generics in the market. Among them, you can categorize cheap golf balls with the generic ones. Why generic? It is because cheap golf balls are not necessarily used. There are various manufacturers that offer inexpensive golf balls.

If you look in the internet, there are several stores that offers branded at a discounted price and there also unbranded ones at a cheaper price. There are over a dozen brand names that are less famous and offer brand new balls at a fraction of a price. It wouldn't hurt an average or an inexperienced golfer to use inexpensive ones.

One losing it won't be much of a problem. Second, they wouldn't actually notice the difference and it wouldn't affect their performance one bit! There are about six types of golf balls, all with different characteristics. Obviously, the first of its kind are the used ones. Common sense would dictate that since its pre-loved, it's half the price. It still depends on its appearance though, the really worked out ones are usually sold by the bucket at quarter of a price of a dozen.

Second would be the X-out golf balls. These are brand sold at a lower price because it did not meet quality standards. Meaning, they did not pass the inspection usually because of cosmetic error. By that these balls have slight flaws when it comes to their physical attributes, slight discoloration, and a mistake in the logo and so on. Aside from that, the brand name of the manufacturer is crossed out thus the term X-out is born.

Moving on, another type is the closeout ball. The only reason manufacturers are selling this third type of golf balls in a cheaper price is for the purpose of discontinuing that certain line of design. Just like in all other clearance sales, closeout balls are sold just until supplies last to make way for new designs that is why they are called as such.

Next would be the refurbished golf balls. They are fixed and packaged to look brand new. Refurbished balls however are not suitable for a serious game. Even with its new appearance, there is no guarantee that the core is still dense. At most it is advised that refurbished balls are used in practice games and normal rounds of golf.

The resellers and manufacturers of refurbished golf balls may have a conflict of interest; the availability of it in the market is still present. Last would be the Company Extra Golf balls. These are customized golf balls extras that are sold at a cheap price to get rid of it quickly. Buying cheap balls is a good way to cut off expenses. Giving in to golf as a hobby is no less than but a serious spending that is why saving a couple of dollars on practice balls is a good way to start it off.
