Rhinoplasty Stories - They'll Make Or Brake Your Decision

There are many rhinoplasty stories of individuals who have achieved success when they had their nose job performed. I could share with you the stories of these individuals, but I do not think that I could do them any justice. Instead, I am going to share with you a personal story that has affected me. It involves my son who was born with a congenital birth defect. I will share the story of his birth, and the nose job that he received as a direct result of his birth defect. These testimonials can be heard all over, this is just one that resulted in success that I can write about from the heart.

Story of Rocky Starts

My son was born in the year 2000. He had to be born by caesarean section because he was over nine pounds and breech. The fluid in the womb was thin, and there was fear for his safety. Little did I know at this time that this was actually the least of our troubles. At least with this situation, something could be done immediately to save him. This was my first child, so being told that I would need a c-section to deliver him immediately was a tad bit scary, but I was actually quite excited to be honest. My son would finally be born!

Upon his birth, I was only able to see him briefly. I was still a bit out of it due to the Spinal that I was issued, that I did not notice the birth defect at all. For hours, I was kept in recovery and was not permitted to see my son. I was told they were running tests. Seeing that it was my first child, I figured this was normal. However, I would later be told by a nurse that he was intentionally kept from me until they had a feel for how I would react to the deformity that he had as many parents decide they do not want their child once seeing them like this. I could not believe my ears!

The Deformity of the Nose and Mouth

My son was born with a unilateral cleft lip. This basically means that the lip did not form while in the womb, and it was split in one spot. In addition to this, the nose was actually sort of flat and off balance when it came to the nostril sizes. I could not believe that they actually thought I would turn away from such a beautiful child! I was informed that he would have to have craniofacial surgery to correct the problem. This included construction of the mouth, and reconstruction on the nose. To be honest, I was perfectly content with the way my son looked. For the sake of his health, however, I knew the craniofacial surgery was best.

Completion of the Craniofacial Surgery

At the tender age of just two and a half months old, my son went into surgery for the first time. I was amazed when he came out of surgery! Yes, he was still sleeping, and was a tad bruised, but he had a brand new mouth and the nose was completely reconstructed. They even put a little stint in the nose to ensure that he could breathe out of his nose while in recovery! I know this is not much like the other testimonials that you read or hear about, but it is my story.

Seven Years Following the Craniofacial Surgery

Seven years later, the reconstructive surgery and the marks left behind from the general reconstruction of the mouth are barely noticeable! When people hear that he has gone through the mouth and nose surgery, they are shocked! The results are absolutely amazing! If you are a new parent facing the same challenges that we did, you will find rhinoplasty stories of adults everywhere, but what you need is information from another parent. This is my story. If you are facing the issue of putting your child through surgery to correct facial birth defects, have no fear. Your success testimonial will be as positive as mine!
