This article proves to look both at liposuction before after surgery. While most people, when idly searching for fat removal on the internet are mostly interested in the photos, there are still some people who want to know about what happens both prior to and post surgery.

Deciding on Fat Removal

Many people are not happy with their bodies. They have pudges here, bumps there and weird freckles in weird places that they would rather not talk about. Most people, at some point in their lives are unhappy with their weight and/or their figures and at some point many people consider having fat removed to correct that weight problem or tone down those curves. The decision to have fat removed should not be made lightly. It is, after all, still a surgical procedure and even the most minor surgical procedure is a major experience for your body to go through. So, take your time and mull over your options before deciding to go the surgical route with your body shaping.

Once you have decided to have fat removal surgry and decided on your surgeon, you will decide which type you are going to have. Most people choose tumescent, which is usually an "awake" procedure, but there are surgeries in which the person is put under general anesthesia and sleeps through everything.

Prior to Fat Removal Surgery

Before fat removal surgery, you should make sure not to take any anti-inflammatory medications. You will get a copy of your doctor's protocol and arrange to be dropped off and picked up from the hospital (or clinic). You will need to arrange care for your first 24 to 48 hours after your surgery and get your prescriptions filled before you go in to have the surgery done. You should also make a couple weeks' worth of meals in advance because you will not be up to standing in your kitchen and cooking a full meal after your surgery is done. Your doctor will give you directions about what to eat, drink and what medications to take in the hours leading up to your surgery. Follow them explicitly.

Post Surgery

You will feel pain, there might be some swelling and bruising and you will most likely experience some numbness (this can last for a couple of weeks). It can take up to six months to completely recover from the surgery so make sure to take things slowly. Right after your surgery should make sure to keep hydrated and wear compression garments (this helps the healing process by keeping your muscles and skin from moving around). You CANNOT use heating pads or ice packs on your surgery areas, use hydrogen peroxide or band-aids on your incision site; soak in a bath, swimming pool or ocean. These can all cause infections at the site of your surgery. Make sure that you move slowly especially when standing up after urinating, and when removing compression garments. Make sure you have help during your first shower and if you start to feel lightheaded or dizzy sit down immediately.

Liposuction before, after, and especially during surgery is a complicated process. There is more to it than the prior and post fat removal photos show you.
